While June existing home sales in Wisconsin area fell 11% compared to last year, it wasn't because people weren't buying, it was due to a lack of inventory. For sellers, that's good news because that smaller supply drove home prices up 5.4%.
Specifically for Southeast Wisconsin, 3223 homes sold in June 2018, a 13% decrease from last year. However the median sale price is up to $215,000, an increase of 7.5%. While homes priced under $200,000 tend to sell faster, it continues to be a seller's market for homes priced below $350,000.
